An article by India Today on May 13, 2018:The government of Tamil Nadu, under the leadership of its Chief Minister and Chief Ministerial Council (CMC), has been encouraging the use of vaccine for the prevention of HIV/AIDS, the National Vaccine Authority (NVDA) has said.

A draft notification on HIV/HPV vaccine availability to the public had been submitted on May 11, 2018, it said.

The announcement was made by the CMC on the sidelines of the 20th World HIV/Hepatitis conference in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The CMC has also set up a website for people to download the vaccine application and submit it through a form.

The notification said that the CMB was working towards a phase-III vaccine release for all people over the age of 15 in 2020 and also planned to launch a phase III vaccine for women at the same time.

It said the CMD has submitted a draft to the Cabinet for approval and also the Government of India (GIS) has sent a proposal to the CPM for its approval.

The release of phase III vaccines is expected to happen within two to three months.

It said the new vaccine will be approved by the GIS by the end of June 2020.
